Here are some common questions about orders and shipping

Where do you ship?

We ship orders via USPS Priority Mail across the country, including Alaska, Hawaii Guam and Puerto Rico. Shipping is calculated by item and grouped together, if applicable. Depending on your order, we usually ship multiple items in one box. We are based in San Francisco, CA and we do not ship internationally.

How long does it take to receive my order?

From the time you place your order to when it arrives, it typically takes 1 to 1.5 weeks at most. However, we often ship orders within just a few days. Unlike mass-produced products that sit on shelves, our items are made fresh to order, ensuring the highest quality and freshness. This extra care means our process may take a little longer, but we believe it's worth the wait!

Do you offer expedited shipping?

At this time, we do not offer expedited shipping since every order is handcrafted fresh. We believe in delivering the highest quality products, which takes a little extra time. However, we always strive to get your order out as quickly as possible!

How long can the Lactation Treats and Superbars stay out during shipment?

Orders are made fresh to order. It can take 1 - 1.5 weeks from ordering to receipt. Our Lactation Treats can stay out for up to 1.5 weeks during shipment but refrigeration is required after delivery.

How can I track my order?

Once your order is shipped, you will receive an email with a tracking number. You can use this number to track your package's progress and estimated delivery date. If you don’t see the email, check your spam folder or reach out to us for assistance.

What should I do if my order hasn’t arrived?

If your order hasn’t arrived within the estimated timeframe, please check your tracking number for updates. Once we ship, we can not control the delivery of the product. If it appears stuck or delayed, please contact your local post office since they will be best equipped to provide you with the information you need. If they are unable to assist you, feel free to contact us, and we will do what we can to resolve the issue.

Can I change or cancel my order after placing it?

Since we make our products fresh to order, we can only modify or cancel orders within 24 hours of placement. If you need to make changes, please reach out to us as soon as possible, and we’ll do our best to accommodate your request.

I live/work in San Francisco, how can I save on shipping costs?

You can find our products at two retail locations in the city: Natural Resources. We also offer local pick-ups between 12-4pm PST Monday  - Thursday from our facilities in Bernal Heights. Just place the order on-line and note your choice of pick-up day and time. Once we coordinate, we will refund you the shipping charges and send you our location info.

My friend just had a baby, can I get a package sent to her?

Yes! We offer gift packages featuring gift tags with custom messages and can ship orders across the country.

Do you sell your products at any stores?

Our products are featured exclusively at Natural Resources in San Francisco. If you would like to be become a wholesaler, please contact us.

What are the terms and conditions for Free Shipping?
  • All orders $75.00 and over (pre-tax, after all promotions are applied) qualify for free priority shipping in the Unites States
  • If your sub-total is less than $75.00, free shipping does not apply
  • Additional taxes do not count towards your free shipping total
  • If discounts and promo codes have been applied to your order, the discounted amount must be over $75.00 to be eligible for free shipping
  • Orders given free shipping will typically be shipped via Priority Mail from USPS

Are your products made fresh to order

Yes! Unlike mass-produced items sitting on store shelves, our products are handcrafted fresh when you order them. This ensures maximum quality, freshness, and effectiveness.

Why does it take longer to receive my order compared to other products?

Because we don’t use preservatives or store products in bulk, every order is freshly made. This process takes a little extra time, but it ensures you receive the best possible product without unnecessary additives.

What happens if an item I want is out of stock?

We do our best to keep all products available, but due to high demand and our fresh-to-order process, some items may sell out. If a product is out of stock, we recommend signing up for email notifications so you’ll be the first to know when it’s back!

Do you offer gift cards?

Yes! Our digital gift cards make the perfect present for new moms and moms-to-be. You can purchase them in various amounts and send them instantly via email.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept all major credit cards, Shop Pay, PayPal, Apple Pay, and Google Pay for secure and convenient checkout.

Do you have a subscription option for regular deliveries?

Yes! We offer a subscription service so you never run out of your favorite lactation treats and teas. You can choose the frequency that works best for you and enjoy exclusive savings on recurring orders.

How can I edit or cancel my subscription?

If you already have an account with us, managing your subscription is easy! Simply log into your account at this link. Once logged in, you’ll find the “Manage Subscriptions” link on your dashboard. From there, you can:

  • Edit your subscription items
  • Adjust the frequency of your shipments
  • Skip orders
  • Cancel your subscription at any time.

If you don’t have an account, you’ll need to create one first. You can do so by registering here.

I want to edit or cancel my subscription but the system doesn’t recognize my email address (although I already receive emails). What do i do?

If the system doesn’t recognize your email address, it’s likely because you don’t yet have an account with us. You can easily create an account here. After registering, you’ll be able to access and manage your subscription.

Do you offer discounts or promotions?

Yes! We frequently run special promotions and discounts. We also have a special discount for our subscriptions. Be sure to sign up for our email list to receive exclusive deals and first access to sales.

Can I use multiple discount codes on my order?

Only one discount code can be applied per order. If you have multiple codes, we recommend choosing the one that gives you the best savings!

Why isn’t the ‘FIRSTORDER’ code working?

The ‘FIRSTORDER’ code is only valid for first-time orders. It cannot be applied to subscription orders. Additionally, you must enter both your shipping and billing address before applying the code. If you’re still having trouble, feel free to contact us for assistance!

Returns & Refunds

What is your return policy?

Due to the nature of our fresh, handcrafted products, we do not accept returns. However, if you have any issues with your order, please reach out, and we’ll do our best to make it right!

Can I exchange a product if I ordered the wrong item?

If you reach out within 24 hours of placing your order, we can typically accommodate an exchange. Once your order has been shipped, we are unable to process exchanges. Please review your order carefully before finalizing your purchase.

What should I do if my order arrives damaged or incorrect?

We sincerely apologize if you receive a damaged or incorrect order! Please contact us or email us at support@mrsmilk.com with your order number and a photo of the issue. We’ll work quickly to resolve it for you.

Do you offer refunds if I’m not satisfied with my purchase?

We stand behind the quality of our products, but if you’re not completely satisfied, please reach out to us. While we don’t offer refunds due to the nature of our products, we are happy to assist you and ensure you have the best possible experience with our brand.

Can I take your lactation products if I no longer have a newborn?

Absolutely! Our lactation products can be enjoyed anytime you need a natural boost in milk supply or feel your body needs extra nourishment and care. Whether you're nursing an older baby, pumping for donation, or simply looking for postpartum wellness support, our products are designed to help you feel your best.

Can I use Mrs. Patel’s lactation products if I am pregnant?

No, our breastfeeding support products contain potent Ayurvedic herbs that are not safe for pregnancy. If you are pregnant or think you might be, we recommend our trimester-specific Pregnancy Teas, which are specially formulated to support each stage of pregnancy. These teas are for pregnancy only and not for lactation.

When should I order lactation products if I'm pregnant?

You can enjoy our trimester-specific Pregnancy Teas at any time during pregnancy. If you’re planning ahead for breastfeeding, we recommend ordering lactation products about 3 weeks before your due date so you have them ready when your baby arrives. You can start using lactation products as soon as you deliver.

Are there any side effects from your products?

Before purchasing, please check the allergen and ingredient listings on each product page. While our ingredients are carefully chosen for their benefits, some individuals may have sensitivities.

Fenugreek in Lactation Treats: What you need to know

Our Lactation Treats contain fenugreek, a well-known herbal galactagogue that has been used for centuries to support milk production. However, fenugreek may not be suitable for everyone.

  • Blood sugar concerns (e.g., diabetes)
  • A peanut allergy
  • A medical condition requiring blood-clotting medications

Some women may experience mild side effects like maple syrup body odor, digestive discomfort, or bloating. While we use culinary quantities of fenugreek and include digestive-friendly herbs like ginger and peepramul, those with sensitive stomachs or a history of milk supply issues may prefer fenugreek-free options.

Can I take Lactation Treats, Lactation Teas, and Lactation Sprinkle together?

Yes! You can enjoy a Lactation Treat, a cup of Lactation Tea, and our Lactation Sprinkle all in one day. Some moms prefer to space them out—a bar in the morning, tea in the afternoon, and Lactation Sprinkle with dinner—while others take them together. Listen to your body and adjust as needed!

Will your products make me overproduce milk?

If your milk supply is already well-established, our lactation products may increase your production. If you want to enjoy the postpartum healing benefits without significantly increasing your supply, we recommend:

  • Eating half a Fenugreek Bar per day
  • Drinking only one cup of Lactation Tea per day

This allows you to enjoy the benefits while monitoring your body’s response.

When will i see results?

We understand that you’re eager to see results, but it’s important to note that results can vary significantly from person to person. Each mama’s body responds differently to herbs, and some may notice a change in just 1-2 days, while others may take 12+ days or longer. In some cases, a small number of mamas may not experience noticeable changes at all.

For the best results, we recommend using our products consistently for at least 1 month to give your body time to adjust and benefit from the natural ingredients.

Are your products guaranteed?

Our products are not guaranteed, as everyone’s body responds to herbs in different ways. While many mamas see positive results, some may not experience the same benefits. Herbal responses vary from woman to woman, and results can differ based on individual factors.

Storing your Lactation Treats and Superbars

When your Lactation Treats and Superbars arrive, place them directly in the freezer for 30 minutes to 1 hour to firm them up. After that, you can store them in either the refrigerator or freezer, depending on your preference.

  • Do not store at room temperature for long periods.
  • In the refrigerator, they stay fresh for up to 1.5 months.
  • In the freezer, they last up to 3 months.

If you're on the go, it's okay to keep them in your bag, backpack, or purse for the day. However, if they’ve been left out for more than a day, place them back in the freezer to maintain quality.

How long can Lactation Treats and Superbars stay out during shipment?

Shipping itself typically takes only a couple of days, but because we make everything fresh before sending it out, the total time from ordering to delivery can take up to 1 to 1.5 weeks.

How should I store my Lactation Teas?

How many treats (bars) come in a box?

Each box contains 12 bars of our delicious and nourishing Lactation Treats. Perfect for keeping on hand for whenever you need a natural boost in milk supply.

What do the treats taste like?

The taste of our Lactation Treats (Fenugreek Bars) is unique and may vary slightly based on individual preferences. Some mamas describe the taste as slightly bitter, others find it sweet, and some refer to it as herbal. It’s a flavor that’s hard to describe, but many moms love it!

How long can the Lactation Treats stay fresh?

Our Lactation Treats are crafted fresh to order, so they stay fresh during shipment for up to 1.5 weeks. After delivery, refrigeration is required to maintain their quality. You can keep them for up to 1.5 months in the refrigerator or 3 months in the freezer in a sealed, airtight container. DO NOT STORE AT ROOM TEMPERATURE.

Can I have more than one Lactation Treat a day?

We recommend starting with one bar per day. If you feel your milk supply could use an additional boost after 3 days, you can increase to two bars per day. Listen to your body and adjust as needed!

I already take fenugreek pills, can I take both the pills and eat the Lactation Treats?

Yes, you can take both fenugreek pills and our Lactation Treats. Each bar contains roughly the same amount of fenugreek powder as one capsule (~500-550mg). Depending on how many fenugreek pills you are already taking, you can incorporate both into your routine.

I took a full cycle (12 days) of your products and now my supply has increased, can I stop or do I need to keep using your products to maintain my supply?

Once your milk supply has increased and you’re happy with your output, you can stop using our products. Your supply should remain consistent without needing to continue. You do not need to wean off our bars like you might need to with fenugreek pills. However, many mamas continue to enjoy our treats because they’re so delicious and nutritious!

Lactation Teas (Milk Water Tea)

Common questions around our Lactation Teas

How much tea comes in a bag of loose tea?

Each bag of our Lactation Tea contains 14 servings of loose tea. If you want to get the most out of your tea, you can reuse the tea leaves to make additional servings:

  • Quick Prep Method: Reuse the leaves to make 2 more cups by adding hot water and re-steeping.
  • Traditional Method: Reboil the leaves to make 1 more cup of tea.

You can store the used tea leaves in a mug, bowl, or container in the fridge until you’re ready to reuse them.

Do you have any tea bags?

Yes, we offer both loose tea and convenient tea bags. For an added convenience, we also offer self-filling tea bags that pair with our loose tea.

How do I make the tea?

There are instructions on both the bags and the boxes, but here are some tips for making the perfect cup:

Loose Tea

  • Quick Prep: Use an infuser, strainer, or even a French press. Place 4 heaping tablespoons of loose tea into your mug, add hot water, steep for 5-7 minutes, then strain the tea.
  • Traditional Prep: Place 1/4 cup of tea leaves into a pot, add 3 cups of water, and boil for 20-30 minutes until the water reduces to 1/2 cup of concentrated tea. Strain the leaves and enjoy with milk and sugar, or lemon and honey.

Tea Bags

  • Place 1 tea bag into a mug, add 8-10 oz of hot water, steep for 5-7 minutes, then remove the sachet. To make a lighter cup, simply add more water or brew a larger batch.
Can I reuse the loose tea?

Yes, you can! If using the Quick Prep method, you can reuse the loose tea for 2 more cups by adding more hot water and re-steeping. With the Traditional Method, you can reuse the tea leaves once more by reboiling them. Store used loose tea in the fridge until you're ready to use them again.

How do I store the loose tea if I want to reuse them?

To store your loose tea, simply place them in a mug, bowl, or container, and keep them in the fridge until you’re ready to reuse them.

Can I add anything to the tea?

Yes, feel free to add whatever you'd like to your tea! This won’t affect the herbal effectiveness of the tea. For the Chai Spice Tea, we recommend adding milk or a dairy alternative and a sweetener. For the Herbal Blend, we suggest adding lemon and honey.

Can I drink the tea hot or cold?

We recommend enjoying your tea hot, but many of our customers also enjoy it iced. Drinking it cold doesn’t affect the tea’s results.

How long does the tea stay fresh?

Unused tea can stay fresh for up to 1 year. If you don’t plan to drink the tea within 6 months, store it in a sealed container and place it in the freezer. It will remain fresh in the freezer for up to 1.5 to 2 years.

Pregnancy Teas

Do pregnancy teas help with lactation?

No, our pregnancy teas are specifically formulated to support pregnancy-related needs. While staying hydrated always helps with lactation, the herbs in our pregnancy teas are designed to support trimester-specific concerns - not milk production.

Can I drink Pregnancy Teas while breastfeeding?

Yes! If you’re pregnant and still breastfeeding, you can drink our pregnancy teas. However, you cannot have our Lactation Teas while pregnant.

Can I drink any trimester tea at any time?
  • 1st Trimester Tea and 2nd Trimester Tea can be enjoyed anytime during pregnancy.
  • 3rd Trimester Tea is specifically for the third trimester and should not be consumed earlier.
Are the Pregnancy Teas loose or in tea bags?

Our Pregnancy Teas comes in biodegradable pyramid tea bags, making it easy and convenient to brew.

How many tea bags come in a canister?

We offer two canister sizes:

  • Small Canister: 7 tea bags
  • Large Canister: 14 tea bags
How often should I drink Pregnancy Tea?

Drink as needed - it's completely up to you! We typically recommend 1-3 cups per day, depending on your preference and needs.

How long should I steep the tea bag?

Follow the instructions on the canister. We recommend steeping the tea bag for 3-5 minutes for the best flavor and herbal benefits.

Can the tea bags be reused?

Our tea bags are designed for single-use, but if you’d like to re-steep, you can. Just note that reusing the tea bag will result in a weaker cup of tea with reduced potency.

Yes! You can safely enjoy our Superbars while pregnant and breastfeeding.

What’s the difference between Lactation Treats and Superbars?

The Superbars and Lactation Treats have completely different ingredients and flavor profiles. Unlike Lactation Treats, the Superbars do not contain fenugreek.

Can Superbars help with lactation?

Yes, but they are a milder lactation aid compared to our Lactation Treats.

Can any woman eat a Superbar?

YES! As long as you’re not allergic to any ingredients, anyone can enjoy Superbars - you, your sister, your mom, your grandmother, your best friend - every woman you know. Basically, if you have a vagina (and no food allergies), these bars are for you!

How many Superbars can I eat per day?

As many as you’d like! Enjoy them like any energy bar.

Do Superbars need to be refrigerated?

Yes! Freeze them upon receipt, then store them in the refrigerator until ready to eat. They’re fine to carry in a backpack, purse, or bag on-the-go, but don’t leave them out for more than a day. If you do, just refreeze them.

Do Superbars have an expiration date?
